Information for Donors
Building support and a legacy...
The Bow Valley Community Foundation helps donors support those charitable activities that are important to them. The foundation specializes in building and administering endowment funds which will provide continued support to these charities now and forever.
What is an Endowment Fund?
~ Funds are pooled and invested permanently ……..the original amount is not spent.
~ As a donor you are making a permanent investment in your community that lasts forever.
~ It is the permanence of the funds that makes it a true endowment.
How does endowment support charitable activities?
~ Each year 4.5% of the Fund value is distributed to charities important to the donor.
~ Any additional income is retained in the fund for future inflation or reduced incomes.
Why create a named Fund?
~ A named fund creates a legacy that will continue to provide support for your favourite cause now and forever.
~ You can name the fund after your favourite charity that you wish to support.
~ You may wish to name it after your family to develop and encourage philanthropy in the family. ~ You may wish to honour a special person.
~ You may wish to create a memorial to some one special.
~ You can then encourage friends to give to your fund in lieu of gifts for special occasions.
